Githyanki Name Generator
Forge hard, astral-forged names for the raiders and reavers who plunder the planes beyond the Astral Sea.
How to name a githyanki
Githyanki names are not built for human mouths. Bred as astral warriors and plunderers who have crossed the Astral Sea for centuries beyond counting, the gith carry a bone-deep arrogance: they consider themselves the rightful masters of every plane they raid, and their names are meant to sound like an order, not an introduction. If a name is hard to pronounce, that is proof it was never meant for outsiders.
Where an elvish name flows and a drow name merely cuts, a githyanki name fractures. Expect hard, angular syllables built from clusters no earthly tongue uses on purpose, like zh, kth, vr and ghr, stacked tight with almost no vowel to soften them. Many names carry an apostrophe-like break mid-word, a glottal snap marking where one clipped syllable ends and the next begins, as though the name was struck rather than spoken.
The Githyanki Name Generator forges this alien cadence by default: names like Zhak'kthar or Kthira'zhun that read as harsh and foreign the instant you say them. Switch between male and female leanings if you like, though gith society cares far more about rank than bloodline, and dial the count up for a single raider or an entire boarding party.
Instant mode is free and immediate. Arcane mode uses AI to add a table-ready hook: a military rank or unit, a grudge nursed across centuries, an artifact stolen from a forgotten plane, or plain contempt for the short-lived races beneath them. Forge a batch and keep the ones that sound like a command, not a greeting.
